FANTASY FINISH:

Fantasy finish is the presentation of a faux finish where the technique or subject is not something found in nature, or something only speculated to be found in nature. 

Fantasy in the sense of a rendering of a cosmic or microscopic scenario beyond the visual ability to recreate as something experienced. A situation of reality but in altered color or size; or a texture or visual reflection that is not to be expected or confirmed as real. 

Fantasy finishes actually are what most folks now refer to as ‘faux finishes’: A surface visualization created with sponge, rag and brush application in a non-specific application, color or creation –and not intended as an impersonation of something actual.
